Transcend has a new series of USB-drive called JetFlash T3S. New items are produced using COB (Chip-on-Board) technology, in which the printed circuit board and memory built into a single unit. This allowed minimizing the size of the drive and, in conjunction with a metal casing, providing protection from falls, as well as dust and water getting in.



JetFlash T3S have dimensions of 29.35 x 12.3 x 3.05 mm and support USB 2.0 interface. AMD starts selling RAM branded Radeon

AMD decided to diversify the range of manufactured products: the well-known chipsets, memory and processors are now accompanied with DDR3 memory modules. These products sold under the brand name Radeon Memory were found in the product list of a few Japan's retail stores.

AMD produces three series of memory modules: Entertainment, UltraPro Gaming and Enterprise. In all cases, the volume of one module is equal to 2 GB, but the speeds are different: 1333 (latency CAS: 9-9-9) for Entertainment segment modules, 1600 (Latency CAS: 11-11-11) for UltraPro Gaming modules. Enterprise series modules feature buffered memory with error correction, which is aimed at use in servers and workstations based on Opteron processors.

Intel revealed information on "improvable" processors: G622, Core i3-2102 and Core i3-2312M

Intel as expected officially confirmed the information that three of its CPUs: Pentium G622, Core i3-2102 and Core i3-2312M - may be "improved" while in use by customers. All that it takes is to purchase an advance card and enter the code printed on it into a special "unlock application". All three processors are built on Intel's Sandy Bridge architecture.


Pentium G622 and Core i3-2102 designed for desktop PCs, after "improvements", will turn into Pentium G693 and Core i3-2153 respectively. The payment will only change processor clock speeds from 2.6 to 3.2 GHz for Pentium G622 and from 3.1 to 3.6 GHz for Core i3-2102.

Intel Core i3-2312M will be used in mobile computers; its index after the upgrade will change to Core i3-2393M. Unlike the previous two CPUs, it will not only increase clock speed of the cores (from 2.1 to about 2.5 GHz), but will also unlock 1 MB of cache memory (its total size will be equal to 4 MB). The graph demonstrates the increase in productivity of Core i3-2312M after unlocking some of the functions.


Besides demonstration of visual graphics on how has processor performance increased in different applications and test suites after "upgrade" Intel gave no additional information. At the start of the paid "improvement" program upgrade cards cost $ 50. Probably, in case of these three processors the cards won't cost less than that.

The new Samsung Galaxy Xcover

Samsung has finally announced the Galaxy Xcover, a ruggedised phone with IP67 protection against the elements.

It's not really a surprise that Samsung is bringing this phone, given the leaks all over the internet in the last day or two and the success of the Motorola Defy.

The Galaxy Xcover is likely to be a lot cheaper than Moto's challenger though, given the spec sheet shows some low-end choices.

For instance we're looking at a 3.65-inch screen with a 3MP camera (albeit with flash included) and an 800MHz processor pumping away under the hood.



However, Android 2.3 is included on the phone out of the box, which is one in the eye for the Defy, despite it's slightly higher spec sheet.

The Galaxy Xcover comes with full IP67 rating, which means its splash, dust and shockproof. There's also a 2GB microSD card in the box for media, helping to supplement the meagre 150MB internal memory.

Gooapple G22 Android IPhone hands on review price and full specification

For iOS and iPhone 4 users who wished their smartphones could do a little more, or perhaps even play Adobe Flash videos through the Mobile Safari browser, but cannot fathom to switch to Android because they disdain the design of current smartphones, then GooApple has a solution that marries Apple’s iconic design with the Android OS.



It’s unclear if this device will even be sold as it is a blatant copy of Apple’s iPhone 4 design down to the 9.3 mm thickness, rear camera and flash, and home button. There’s no telling right now if the phone will have the now famous Retina Display, or if the glass panels are made to withstand scratches and drops with a Gorilla Glass-like properties, or if the phone in fact sports a working front-facing camera.



As the form factor is similar to Apple’s most iPhone 4 cases should work on this design.



The device does run Android 2.2, so hopefully it has a decent processor that will allow users to play Adobe Flash videos, if this device even gets released.







The credit for the GooApple phone has to go to China. Cheap iPhone clones are not new, but what makes this one is the attention paid to the minutest details. The GooApple phone is not just a clone, but a perfect replica of the iPhone 4. The build is so close to the original handset that it can use all the cases and screen protectors made for Apple's product. The onboard Android 2.2 is also so deeply customized to look like iOS 4 that you won't be able to tell the difference at first glance. This is the finest iPhone 4 copycat we've seen so far.



Review:



There are iPhone 4 clones and there is the Gooapple G22! This iPhone 4 clone not only looks awesome, but it’s gets a full vanilla install of Android 2.2, a very responsive capacitive touch screen, but best of all the super low price of 999 Yuan ($152).



It seems to us that the Shenzhen factories have finally got the outward appearance of the iPhone 4 down to a tee and are now concentrating more on the function rather than form, and the Gooapple G22 really confirms that for us!



The outward design is pretty much identical to a genuine iPhone 4, unless of course you take a look at the back panel and see the Android logo or turn the phone on that is!



Speaking of the back, the rear panel is removable so you can swap the battery and fit the SIM card and micro SD card for your applications and media, there is also a 5 mega-pixel camera too.



On the front there is a 3.5 inch capitative touch screen, front video chat camera and also a physical home button. As this is an Android phone you’ll be probably wondering where the back and options buttons are, well they’re in exactly the same place as you would expect to find them either side of the home button. Where as the home button is a physical unit the other 2 buttons are touch buttons built in to the glass panel itself.

Turning the phone on brings up the brightly colored Gooapple logo and droid munching on an Apple boot up animation. Once started you are presented with your standard Froyo 2.2 unlock screen, which seems to be sporting a HTC inspired wallpaper.



Swiping from left to right to either unlock the screen of flick through the apps proves to be fast and smooth which really is a shock for a phone costing so little.



The UI is standard Froyo, but some parts have been made to look more Apple like, such as the camera button for switching from front to rear camera, or the ebook reader which looks and acts much like iBooks.



For the money the G22 Gooapple looks like a bit of a steal and would make a great second phone or entry level unit, but for those who want a bit of 3D gaming while on the go the G22 isn’t likely to impress due to it’s lower than average CPU speed, dual core CPU running at 270 +460Mhz.

Intel® Core™ i7-2920XM Processor Extreme Edition (8M Cache, 2.50 GHz) Details price

Intel’s fastest quad core Sandy bridge mobile part is called Core i7 2920XM and this is a 2.5GHz clocked notebook quad core with eight threads. This 32nm CPU has 8MB of cache and graphics running at 650MHz and when necessary, it will turbo to 1300MHz.



The CPU itself can turbo to 3.5GHz, which is pretty nice for a mobile quad core. The bad thing is the 55W TDP, which practically translates to hot lap. Of course these CPUs usually land in 17'' gaming notebooks as they can benefit from quad cores and eight threads.



According to Intel’s current plan, this CPU remains the fastest one until at least Q4 2011 and it leaves an option for potential update in Q4 2011. One thing is for certain - this generation gets replaced with Ivy Bridge in first half of 2012, most likely already in Q1 2012 but we cannot confirm this now.



The price of this CPU remains unchanged at $1096.00 apiece, at least until something faster comes out.

Step 3: From there right click and create a new key and name it “StorageDevicePolicies”

Step 4: In the window on the right then create a new DWORD value and label it WriteProtect

Step 5: Give it a value of “1″ and users can no longer write to USB drives.

To re-enable this option change the value to 0 and users are again allowed to write.

The modifications you made will be in effect after you restart Windows Explorer.
